At Wacken Open Air, around 590 tons of waste are generated every year. Together with 17Ziele and ICS, the challenge was to address this issue in a way that truly resonated with metalheads and made sustainability visible, engaging, and memorable.

The Trash Metal Project turned sustainability into a cultural statement. With the specially composed and performed song “Reduce. Reuse. Recycle.”, the message became an integral part of the festival experience and stayed with visitors long after the final performance.
In close collaboration with Leagas Delaney, we planned, designed, and delivered the activation concept, the container module, and the stage setup for the metal karaoke sessions, bringing the idea to life on site.
